Maybe it’s because I loved the movie so much, but I have a lot of dreams that including me on roller skates. In fact, I had one just last night. And technically, this dream qualifies to go in my journal of celebrity dreams since it had Mike Piazza in it. But I’m not going to bother writing it up since he really only had a cameo in it instead of a starring role like my Matt Damon dreams that I enjoy so much.
Robyn at ‘Blog Blog Baby’ posted the following question: What five beauty-related products would send you running out to stockpile if you found they were discontinued tomorrow?
I had to think long and hard about it because I’m not one to stockpile beauty products. But I’d stockpile 1) MegaBlondes hair dye, 2) Princess Marcella Borghese ‘Fango’ mud mask, 3) Philosophy’s ‘Hope in a Jar’ moisturizer, 4) John Frieda’s Sheer Blonde hair wax for short hair, and 5) Tresemme hair fortifying shampoo.
So, apparently it’s true. Mosquitoes do prefer blondes. I had always thought that it was true – they certainly seemed to follow me wherever I go. Maybe I should go brunette – just to be safe.

I Hate Doing Laundry - But Maybe Our New Cart Will Help? on December 1st, 2011… continue on, dear reader!
And today started off as such as nice day! Cooper the Dog let me sleep in until 9:30 a.m., which was a total treat. Then I had a leisurely day – mild cleaning around the house, small gardening projects in between moments of rain. Then Denis and I got all spiffed up (Denis in a tie, me in a dress – which, if you know me, you know that’s major) and headed out to The Manor, a great seafood restaurant in West Orange, NJ.
So as you know from yesterday’s journal, we have a bee problem. Well, we were about a mile from the restaurant and I swear I felt something crawling up my leg. I looked down to make sure I wasn’t … continue on, dear reader!
Okay, so we’ve only been in our house for 9 months or so. And last summer we noticed a lot of bees that hung out near our back deck – even spied a hole that they sometimes used. Well, winter came, the bees went away, and we thought nothing of it. Until now.
So I just saw this and had to post it right away. Smoking Decides Sex of Baby.
How great is it that Denis and I are non-smokers? According to this story, we’re more likely to have a boy when I get pregnant (okay, 55% is not a huge margin, but hey – I want boys) !
So, one of the blogs that I link to and have come to enjoy is the Friday Five, which is updated every Friday with new questions. So here are today’s Friday Five:
Two topics for you today. Lawn care and Survivor. We’ll start with Survivor. How about that John, huh? Getting kicked off just when he could taste the $1 mil. Nice. The only bad thing about him getting kicked off is that I didn’t pick him to get kicked off in my pool – so I’m still in second place (out of two, I should add). I’m gonna go out on a limb and predict right now that Vecepia is going to win the whole thing. Which means she’ll get kicked out next week.
Why don’t my friends email me anymore? Am I that annoying that they feel they need to run screaming from my emails?
Don’t answer that.
I lovingly call myself the “email queen”, but I can’t very well be said queen if no one emails me back! I need to have something to reply to, people.
Okay, so last night I forgot to post this, so I thought I would post it this morning. You know that show The Amazing Race 2? I’m a huge fan, but I’m not a fan of Wil, who is partnered with his wife, Tara. Tara, who is smartly separated from Wil, seems pretty decent. But I just don’t like Wil. On the other hand, I love Gary and Dave, the NY “Itchy and Scratchy” team. One of them reminds me of a co-worker (you know which one). Anyway, they make me laugh.
So it’s 11:59 p.m. by our computer’s … ah wait, it just flipped. It’s now midnight. And boy am I tired. I’ve been surfing for just over two hours, trying to learn more about this whole blogging thing. Turns out, there’s a difference between blogs and journals. So am I doing a blog or just doing a diary for my own benefit?
Okay, so we’ve never done a blog (“online journal” for those not familiar with the term) and I have basically pulled out all of my hair trying to figure out how to set one of these up. First off, Blogger sucks. Secondly, so does Moveable Type (which makes pretty websites but practically requires a Ph.D. in computer programming to use). But finally, Greymatter hooked us up and I think we’ll be able to do this with very little pain.
We’re on a countdown to our five year anniversary this week. I was surprised at work today…
