Saw two more movies this weekend.
“Lost in Translation” was crap. Sofia Coppola is NOT a good writer or filmmaker. I didn’t particularly care for “The Virgin Suicides”, one of her other movies. And I sure didn’t care for this boring snooze-fest. Note to Sofia: When making a movie, try to have a plot. That always helps.
“Comedian” was the documentary about Jerry Seinfeld going back on the road doing stand-up, as well as an up-and-coming comedian named Orny Adams. The Jerry bits were fine, but Orny was a jerk in the business for all the wrong reasons. Even Jerry told him that (albeit not as obviously as I just said it). Suffice to say, there’s a reason why 99.9% of the population hasn’t heard of Orny Adams to this day.
The third movie was “Gods and Generals”, which I didn’t actually get to see because the disc was damaged. So I’ve returned it to Netflix and asked for a new disc to be sent out immediately.
