Busy Bees!

Boy have we been busy lately. It seems non-stop, and thus the lack of posting here.

It’s already Tuesday and I’m just now posting about our weekend (which was fun)!

The two main events of the weekend were the play on Saturday, and the church functions on Sunday.

First up, the play. Ace, Anthony, Denis and I saw “Wicked”, which is the Broadway musical about the Wicked Witch of the West, based on a book by Gregory Maguire, who is a phenomenal writer (my personal favorite is “Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister”, which is his version of the Cinderella story. The play was a lot of fun, and our seats were outstanding. We were directly in the center, with a perfect view of the stage. Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara sat a few seats away from us in the same row. She looks fabulous for her age. Kristen Chenoweth was a lot of fun as Glinda – she made me laugh out loud several times. The music was good, although there were only a couple songs that I truly loved. But a good times was had by all – we all liked the play.

While at the play CootieGirl was left in the care of a woman from our church, who swore that CootieGirl is the most well-behaved baby on the planet. Awww…

On Sunday it was a church-filled day! Sunday service, followed by a few hours of miscellaneous activity, followed by a huge Celebration Dinner at the local VFW hall. We’ve been doing the Forty Days of Purpose study at our church, and yesterday was the big finish. We got together for food and fun, and sharing what we learned in the 40 days. We had about 80-90 people at the dinner, which apparently was about twice the number they had last year. Obviously our church is growing (we’ve only been attending about nine months).

It was a busy weekend (the worst part was Friday night when we opted to watch “Charlies Angels: Full Throttle”, just about the worst sequel I’ve ever endured. We knew from two minutes in that it was going to be garbage, but we watched the whole thing anyway.

And that’s the recap – sorry it took so long to post it. Tomorrow we leave for Virginia, where we’ll spend Thanksgiving and celebrate my grandmother’s 90th birthday. Should be a fun time, especially since it’ll be the first time for most of my dad’s side of the family to see CootieGirl for the first time since she was born!
