We’re Here to Make The Pigs Itch

Frustrating Day

Posted on | February 4, 2009 | Comments Off

Today was a snow day. Even though we didn’t have snow. Supposedly there was ice on the roads this morning, but our street certainly didn’t have any. And two hours later, not only were the roads clear and dry, but so was our lawn. It was as though we didn’t have ANY inclement weather. And yet, here I was, with two kids. All day. While Denis got to go to work.

*sigh*

It wasn’t too bad – they got along for the most part. It helped that I refused to get involved when they argued. It also helped that I was a bit preoccupied trying to get Thunderbird to act as the email client for the new website I’m building. I could send out emails with no issue, but my replies that I sent back weren’t acknowledged – I wasn’t even getting bouncebacks. No lie – it took four hours to figure out that my spam blocker was not allowing any incoming emails. Once I turned off the spam blocker – voila I got all the incoming emails. Grrr…

I also did some mild cleaning – vacuuming, cleaning up a bit, making sure the kids didn’t destroy the house too much – and we just had pizza for dinner. Tonight I’m hosting the ladies from our life group for discussion of the second chapter of the book we’re reading. Denis went to the men’s group session last night. Next week we’ll all be back together in one group. I have no idea if it’ll be just me and Katie, or all four ladies. But SOMEone is coming over tonight.

I feel like I got nothing done, but I did get some things done, so I shouldn’t complain. But still – I could have gotten a lot more done if the schools hadn’t been CLOSED FOR NO REASON.
