Deleting Old Email Accounts

Posted on | January 7, 2009 | 3 Comments

I never use the email that was set up when I bought the Cootiehog domain. I just never needed to since I had other email addresses that I used more frequently.

I’m now on the verge of deleting the Cootiehog domain email address altogether because I have been inundated with spam over the past few weeks. It has always been bad, but now I’m dealing with literally HUNDREDS A DAY. It’s not worth it.

So, if you have used that email address in the past, please note that AS OF TODAY that email address is no longer functional. ONLY use the Gmail email address that is listed in the sidebar.

The new year is the perfect time for “cleaning out” in all sorts of areas, isn’t it? I am in that mode myself.

What’s weird is that I have never gotten spam on my blog domain email address. But I do get a ton of spam to my business email and it’s highly annoying. It’s partly why I set up a new gmail account for my business email – that and because I still can’t send mail from my Thunderbird email because of Verizon.

My mistake was using my cootiehog email address for non-blog related stuff, such as purchases online. That opened up the account to spam.
