We’re Here to Make The Pigs Itch

Joined A Gym

Posted on | November 29, 2006 | Comments Off

Last night on the way home from work I stopped by the new 24-hour gym that is opening in Fort Mill and signed up Denis and me. What was great was that because they haven’t even opened yet they gave us a great deal – $49/month for the two of us, only $108 paid up front to cover the two key fobs we’ll need to get into the secured building and the application processing fee. I was told our membership fee will NEVER go up, and we will never be assessed additional fees for the membership. I got two free t-shirts, the ability to do 3 months of tanning for only $27 if I want it, an hour with a personal trainer for both Denis and me, and the equivalent of a month-to-month agreement.

The gym will just be one large room of equipment. Since it’s a smaller gym there are no changing rooms – just three large bathrooms that can be used to change in. There are no aerobic classes, no saunas, no swimming pools. But for now, while our kids are young, this fits our needs because we can work out at any time of the day or night since it’s open 24 hours. Once the kids are older we may do a family membership at the YMCA so that they can participate in some activities of their own. But for now this is going to be great.

The only negative is that the gym is currently under construction. It won’t be finished until February 1. They have said, however, that if the gym opens in January that all who have signed up for memberships at that point can work out during those extra days at no charge.
