So I didn’t hate this Danielle Steel novel. I actually don’t have too much to complain about with this one.

This story follows Ophelie and Pip, a mother and daughter who are suffering the loss of the husband and brother in their family to a plane crash. Daughter Pip meets an artist on the beach who has his own sordid backstory, and a friendship develops between the two. Eventually mother and artist meet and develop a friendship over wounded hearts. Yadda yadda yadda.

As I said, it wasn’t as bad as some other Steel novels I’ve read. Sure it was predictable, but not horribly so. In fact, one story aspect kind of blindsided me and came from leftfield. For that alone I was happy I read it. Steel books don’t often surprise me like that.
