45 More Minutes

I’m leaving at noon to go home. One of the executives came to my desk a couple hours ago to ask for my help on a Powerpoint presentation since his admin is out today, and I told him I’d be available until noon. He said, “No problem – I’m leaving at noon as well.”

It’s now 11:20 a.m. and I still haven’t received anything from him. He’s famous for waiting until the last possible moment, which means he’ll probably arrive at my desk at 11:58 a.m. with 15 slides to be typed up before I go. I’ll be mad if that’s the case.

I still have a temp – it has hovered at about 100.7 for the past hour (yes, I’m repeatedly taking my temp here at my desk).

Update at 12:11 p.m.: I was just starting to pack up my stuff at 12:06 p.m. when the Exec walked up with the presentation. He’s leaving, but has asked that I email the presentation when I’m done. So I’m stuck here, feeling like garbage, working on a presentation that isn’t due until next Thursday.

  1. I just got home a bit ago and read that you aren’t feeling well. Hope you got to leave early ~ take some aspirin. That will make the fever go down. But you know that, right?
